What is a Haft Broker List?

Meeting members

As a client of the Haft Group, I try to get you introduced to a core audience that will be interested in following your company. I call this the broker list.

To this core audience, at least once a quarter, we encourage you to fly into New York, to give PowerPoint presentations at dinner functions, one-on-one meetings, professional association gatherings.

You want to communicate without promising. You have to create the public exposure without promising the moon. That’s not doable. Just be very professional tell your story.

If you are being interviewed or if you are doing a program in investor relations, don't appear in good times and disappear in bad times. You must, by the nature of your own success, have continuity in your exposure. So when you surface, stay surfaced. And that's very, very important. That's how you build a share holder relations audience, that's how you build a communications practice, and that's how you build your own credibility.

If there are 10, or 12, or 14 brokers, money managers and private investors that follow you, then that is your audience because they then can say “Hey, I met this company. I think they're great. They have great management. There's nice balance sheet that's growing. They have a strategy of expansion and I like that.” So, they may tell those with whom they are associated with about your firm. Your company grows that credibility inside to outside.

In particular, I have arranged for presentations to brokers in New York, at my “western office” – the Four Seasons Hotel in Vancouver, B.C., and at the Boca Raton Stock & Bond Club in Florida.
